The Starkiller Base was a snowy planet, converted by the First Order into a super weapon. Like the prior weapons of the Galactic Empire, the Death Star I and II, Starkiller Base was capable of destroying entire planets. However, it is superior to the previous models; it relies on energy harvested from the sun, was more than three times larger than the Death Stars, and can destroy more than one planet at a time.
