Whitebeard
Edward Newgate, more commonly known as "Whitebeard", was the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates and widely known as the "Strongest Man in the World" and the "Man Closest to One Piece" after Gol D. Roger's death.
Whitebeard was one of the major figures, along with Shiki, Silvers Rayleigh, Monkey D. Garp, Sengoku and Kong from the times when the "Pirate King" was still alive.
In the past before forming his own crew, he was a member of the legendary Rocks Pirates and later in life he became a member of the Yonko that rule over the New World
A year after his death at the Battle of Marineford, his place among the Yonko was succeeded by Marshall D. Teach after the event known as the Payback War.
