Buzz Lightyear

Captain Buzz Lightyear is a human space ranger, a member of the elite Universe Protection Unit of the Space Rangers Corps and one of the most respected agents in Star Command. His major responsibility is to protect the galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg, sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance. Despite being his nemesis, Zurg has also claimed to be Buzz's father on more than one occasion, but later denied his own statement, explaining that he was just trying to trick Buzz.

Captain Lightyear is well known for his bravery and commitment to his duties, although he has learned to become less serious and to relax and have fun during free time. After Buzz's former partner, Warp Darkmatter, turned out to be an evil spy working for Zurg, Buzz became the leader of Team Lightyear, which also includes the Tangean Mira Nova, former Star Command janitor Booster Sinclair Munchapper, and the robot XR, created by the Little Green Men.

Legends of the Multi-Universe (Menslady's story)[]

Buzz Lightyear made a Space Ranger's oath that he would stick by and protect Angewomon...who was, in fact, feeling a stirring of love towards him. Later, when Angewomon was crushed after remembering how much she had loved Riley Simpson and he had left her, Buzz declared his love for Angewomon and added to his oath that he would always love her. Angewomon felt better right away and revealed that she was in love with the dashing Space Ranger.

For the rest of the story, Buzz made wonderful good on his oath to stay with, protect and love Angewomon, the best example possibly being when he stated that he wanted no other woman but Angewomon, not caring at all that she had been raped and impregnated by Galvatron...even the fact that Angewomon had been violated could never deter Buzz's heart from his love for Angewomon.

At the end of the story, Buzz asked Angewomon to marry him...and with joyful tears, she accepted!
