The 1st Special Forces Operational Detatchment-Delta (also known as the Delta Force, SFOD-D, or just Delta) is a tier one elite counter terrorist unit of the United States Army, founded in 1977.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, they serve as the playable U.S. faction, while the previous games where the United States Marine Corps and U.S. Army Rangers. During Operation Kingfish, the Delta Force joint operated alongside Task Force 141.
